Mary died on 5 August 1895 at 52Y 3M 8D of age in Eldon, Wapello, Iowa. She is buried in Troy Cemetery, Troy, Davis, Iowa.

George was born on 16 Feb 1844 in Davis County, Iowa. He is the great-grandfather of DNA Project Participant #214109. George married Mary Alice Veatch in Schuyler, Missouri on 23 August 1877. They were the parents of 3 sons and 1 daughter, including American Guthrie and Allied Families author, Laurence R. Guthrie. The family moved from Missouri back to Iowa and later onto Comanche County Oklahoma. George died in Lawton, Comanche County, on 8 January 1924.

Sarah was born on 18 December 1848. She worked as a public school teacher. She married widower John R Frogge, a native of Tennessee, but living in Jasper, MO at the time of their marriage. They moved to Montana and later Oregon. She died on 16 September 1917 and is buried in Troy Cemetery, Davis County, Iowa. They had no children.

Alfred was born on 20 September 1850 in Davis County, Iowa. Determined to gain a quality education, he alternatively attended and taught school, first at the Troy Academy, and then Iowa State University. He married Ella M Osmond on 25 December 1877. They had 1 son, Keith Osmond Guthrie. Ella died in 1879. Alfred became a Superintendent of Iowa City Public Schools for several years. Then, in 1884, he entered Albany Law School, was admitted to the bar after graduation, and formed a law partnership with Andrew J Colvin and his brother William R Guthrie, taking the name Colvin, Guthrie & Guthrie. He later moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he married on 26 April 1898 to Margaret Harland Sargent. They had 1 daughter, Margaret Sargent Guthrie. Alfred died on 27 March 1922 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. He is buried in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland. There are no DNA Project Participants from Alfred's line at this time.

He died on 3 August 1858 at the age of 5Y 10M 14D of "brain fever", a condition caused by becoming overheated while helping his older brothers in the hay-mow. He is buried in Troy Cemetery, Troy, Davis, Iowa.

Lydia was born on 9 July 1854 in Davis, Iowa. She was an avid reader and began teaching when quite young. She taught in the Eagley School House, staying in the home of her uncle, Daniel Eagley, in Pennsylvania. She met her future husband at a Teachers Institute in Bloomfield, Iowa. Charles R Van Duyn & Lydia Guthrie married and lived in Lincoln, Nebraska where their 3 children were born. Lydia died 30 January 1933 in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. She is buried at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.

Rhoda was born on 14 August 1860. In a double wedding with her sister Sarah, on 18 March 1889, she married widower Millard Cox. They lived on the Guthrie homestead until her father's death after which they moved to Pulaski, Iowa where her husband engaged in the hardware and notion business. They later moved to Des Moines. They had 2 sons and 1 daughter. Rhoda died on 12 Dec 1917 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. Her obituary can be read at her Find-a-Grave Memorial. She is buried in Glendale Cemetery.
