HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHTS:

1803: BIRTH of ROBERT GUTHRIE
Robert was the son of Robert Guthrie of Somerset Twp & West Bethlehem, Washington County, Pennsylvania. It is believed, based upon the documentation available, that his mother was Margaret who would have been Robert's 1st wife. Robert and his twin brother Thomas were born on 27 July 1803, most likely in Washington County, Pennsylvania. There is no specific evidence showing that his parents were property owners in Washington County until 1807. Robert was probably named for his father, Robert. Thomas was probably named for his maternal grandfather Thomas Wilson.
