1888: MARRIAGE of WILLIAM MURRAY GUTHRIE and MARGARET ASHLOCK
I find it interesting that the marriage location of William & Margaret is listed as Logan County, KY. Both the Guthrie and Ashlock families were living in Gentry County, Missouri in 1880. Granted, it is 6 years later, but it does seem coincidental that these two would meet up in Colorado after living in the same county.
1889: BIRTH of SON, WILLIAM EARL GUTHRIE
Earl was born on 13 Aug 1889 in Sterling, Logan, Colorado. He was the only child of William & Margaret. Earl married twice. First to Eula Mae Quinn with whom he had 3 sons and 3 daughters. The marriage ended in divorce. Earl remarried to Hazel Foree and they had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Earl & Hazel's son, William Leroy Guthrie, was one of our DNA Project participants.
1890: DEATH of MARGARET ASHLOCK GUTHRIE
Margaret died either in Sterling, Logan, Colorado or Wyoming. Burial location unknown.
1900: CENSUS of GOLDEN, JEFFERSON, COLORADO
I cannot find William listed in the 1900 census. I did, however, find Earl...
Earl Guthrie, 11, Aug 1888, Colorado, America, America, is listed in what appears to be a school census

1910: CENSUS of MARSHFIELD, CASSIA, IDAHO
The Guthrie Household: William Guthrie 50 widowed WV/WV/WV odd jobs, Earl Guthrie 21 son single Nebraska/WV/WV farm worker, Josephus Guthrie 47 brother WV/WV/WV works on farm.
Notice that Earl's birth location is listed as Nebraska instead of Colorado.
AFTER 1910: MARRIAGE of SON, EARL GUTHRIE to EULA MAE QUINN
Family records list the marriage as 1908, but Earl was a single man living with his father in 1910, so the marriage had to occur after that.
1920: CENSUS of COLBRAN, MESA, COLORADO
The Guthrie Household: Earl 30, Eula M 29, Leonard 9, Eveleen 7, Oliver 4-5/12, William 1-2/12, Margarett 1-2/12, William L Guthrie 68
William is listed here as William L. instead of William M. Guthrie.
1930: RESIDENCE UNKNOWN, PROBABLY COLORADO
Son, Earl Guthrie, and his wife Eula had divorced sometime before 1928. Eula & their children were living in Burley, Cassia, Idaho in 1930. Earl's 2nd marriage to Hazel Foree was supposed to have taken place in 1928, but in 1930 she is listed as living with her parents in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado. The census does indicate that Hazel is married and the surname Guthrie was written over the line intended to indicate that her surname was the same as the head of household. So it seems that they were married, but Earl was elsewhere. Was he with his father, perhaps working?
I cannot find William or Earl in the 1930 census.
1931: DEATH of WILLIAM MURRAY GUTHRIE
William died in Denver, Colorado on 19 September 1931.
